Artist Statement:
“A continuing meditation on Americana, this series explores the multifaceted nature of American society and iconography. Beneath the familiar, unified imagery lies complex multitudes—a mixing, blending, and coming together of disparate parts. The final product is something colorful, messy and beautifully imperfect.
Custom engraving-style illustrations, phrases from historical texts, and base mediums form the core of each piece, yet through rearranging, tinting, and hand-printed iterations, something unique is born. The works encourage the viewer to look beyond the surface, notice the similarities and differences, and remember that our collective assemblage makes us more powerful as a society and a nation.”
