FEMME

2026 Art Fair

18×24″ Mixed Media on Paper
(Silkscreen, Linocut, Paste)

Artist Statement:

“Interpreting the foundational iconography of liberty, justice, enlightenment, and renewal through a female lens, these pieces reflect a reality where no iteration is pristine—yet each carries its own raw, resilient beauty. Drawing from the visual urgency of wheatpaste posters, protest signs, and political propaganda, the work disrupts traditional iconography, experimenting with repetition and the lineage of female personification and imagery.

Semi-translucent vellum paper is applied to wood panels and distressed, then overlaid with expressive silkscreen ink pulls and hand-carved linocut stamps arranged into repeating custom patterns. Each unique substrate is then unified with one of four engraving-style illustrations applied via screen print. By embracing the imperfections of the physical process, the finished pieces stand as homages to self-determination, endurance, and American female identity”
